The suns raise shines through my curtains and wakes me.
I open my eyes with a smile looking up at the ceiling, reminiscing of the night before.
My smile fades as I look to my right and see she's not there.
Was it all just a dream? How could God be so cruel as to put such perfection in my mind and make me believe it was mine.
I roll over and smell the scent of her hair.
I breath a sigh of relief. She is real.
Just then, I hear footsteps coming up the stairs. She opens the door and walks in with a tray of breakfast and a smile. She brought two bowls of cereal, two glasses of Orange juice, and a plate of buttered toast.
She rests the tray on the bed side table and climbs back into bed. I hold her like she was lost and now found. I don't wanna let her go again. She feels the same and holds me tighter. Pressing her head against my chest to listen to my heartbeat. A rhythm that plays just for her.
We love each other on this good morning.
